Gerania Mountain, Corinthia
Looking for the church of Saint Mary at Prathi
Like everyone else we have been confined to our local area for the past year. If we left the house, we had with us a paper with the reason we were out and when we had left home
Option number 6 was to exercise, walk a pet, alone or in pairs. Since we live near the sea, we were able to go swimming all summer and for walks along the beach side path in the winter.
However, I began to miss not being able to go for a walk in the woods and a change of scenery, never mind trips to Athens Sparta and Madrid.
From Saturday 3rd April, and only at weekends, we are allowed to get in the car and go further afield for our walks as long as we stay in the same region. Well, Corinthia is big enough for me to find a destination for each weekend until the swimming season starts
Yesterday we went in search of an old church named Saint Mary at Prathi which is somewhere on the Gerania mountain. We didn’t actually get that far but stopped at an olive grove in the middle of the pine forests. I enjoyed wandering among the olive trees on the carpet of daisies and yellow clover and snapped the bushes on the edge of the forest.
