Title: Former pot plant now big shrub ID'd by Fleur Pavlidis as Cestrum purpureum
Post by: hampan on November 13, 2015, 10:33:13 PM
I bought it at the Kifissia flower show as a less than a meter high potted plant, planted it in the ground and now it is a huge tree.  The more we try to prune/shape it, the more it grows.  it's completely out of control and I want it half it's size but am afraid it's too late?

It looks like a Cestrum purpureum, a very good shrub for growing in shady places. You can prune it as much as  you like but I'm afraid it'll will always want to be big when it's happy, which your specimen must be.
