The Environment Museum of Stymphalia.
A new museum built with a view over the lake.
The museum deals with every aspect of the life of the people living near the lake, the history of the lake and surrounding area, the birds using it and the plants growing in it.
The notices for the canes and the nests were very informative

Grows during winter and blossoms in summertime, usually in dense groups.
Height up to 6m.
Eleocharis palustris, Common spikerush , Καλάμι
Grows in water up to 1m. deep
Produces fruits after the age of 2-3 years old

It is attached to reeds, high above the water level.
It is made by flycatchers and bitterns
Floating nest
It is attached to aquatic vegetation on water level.
It is made by grebes, coots and a few species of duck
The nests have been made by volunteers of the Youth Centre of Corinthia "
The museum and the lake are well worth a visit. there is a bird viewing platform at the museum complete with binoculars.
We have had several enjoyable spring picnics at various places round the lake.
One year we went on May 1st and there was a traffic jam in the village!
Usually we had the whole lake to ourselves.
