I have some flower heads from echium candicans but cannot work out what the see looks like. Can anyone tell me?

Janet, I have found an interesting site which may be of use to you:

It describes the seeds of Echium russicum and E. vulgare as small black chips. Those of E. candicans could well be similar. There are also close-up photos of seeds and germination information.
