Last month our friend, Fleur, came to stay for a few days and among the plants she very kindly brought us was a Tritonia crocata 'Plymouth Pastel'. It has already begun to flower.

Lovely, John! We have Tritonia securigera in Greece, a yellow-flowered species, which isn't quite so vividly glamorous as crocata but has been increasing very happily in a hot dry corner of the entirely unwatered part of our garden there, flowering in March or early April.

Tritonia securigera has just come into flower in our garden

Tritonia deusta - first flowering from seed sown in March 2018 from Silverhill Seeds - showing a slight variation in form

Such lovely warm colours. Thank you Fermi. We hope OUR rain will arrive and we shall have some of the bulbs coming up.

Hi Charithea,
I hope the rains come soon for you - we have a similar anxious wait here especially since we rely on tank water for the house!
Here is the typical Tritonia crocata in bright orange - we also have some "peach" forms which are still in bud

Hi Charithea,
in real life it's eye-burning bright! ;D
Here's a mystery Tritonia going around as Tritonia lineata 'Pink Lace' - it doesn't fit the description of Tritonia lineata on-line so it could be a hybrid
