Title: Awkward Plants
Post by: Daisy on September 21, 2012, 02:54:29 PM
Why oh why are plants sometimes so awkward?
This spring, my one and only bulb of Gladiolus tristis, which I had planted with care, facing south, near the edge of the path, flowered with it's back squarely toward me. I couldn't see it, unless I climbed into the bed. ??? ??? ???
Now, my Aristolochia elegans, which I grew from seed has started flowering.  Great, except once again, it has turned it's back to me. ??? ??? ???
I can only see it by holding it in my hand and turning it!!!!

Sorry to say it, but that is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Do you think it will ever turn itself around or is it going to give you the permanent cold shoulder?
