Bush ID'd by Oron as Leucophyllum frutescens 'Compactum'

I've attached two photos taken in the same garden as the previous enquiry. This bush is still in flower now, in mid October and is very popular with bees. There is another example in the garden that is a lot "leggier" because it was crowed out by other plants. The one in the picture seems to be a more natural shape.

You can prune hard the laggier one, it will recover fast.

That's good news. Can I cut the bare main stems back to a foot or so?

Thanks for the id.

We recently purchased a plant described as Leucophyllum from a local nursery. It was quite spindly so I pruned the branches back but 2/3. I am looking forward to the day when it will look like the specimen in the photo!

Alice,

hopefully you have given it plenty of room! They are lovely bushes, and seem to have a long flowering season. Also great for bees.

Good luck with it!

Andy, it's near a big patch of Sarcopoterium spinosum which we want to get rid of, so I hope it will spread. If it attracts bees, that will be an extra bonus.
