Title: Tortoises
Post by: Trevor Australis on April 04, 2013, 10:53:28 PM
There are tortoises that live in the gardens at Sparoza. Can anyone tell me what they are? I've also seen tortoises in gardens nr Montpellier and wonder if the are the same species or different. Does anybody know? I have a photo of the Montpellier tortoises and will post as soon as I find it.

Hi Trevor!
I have yet to see a tortoise at Sparoza and I have been here almost everyday since September! Granted, they have been asleep for allot of that time but should be waking up soon. I will ask Sally who they are and get back to you on the subject.

Trevor, I believe they are Testudo graeca, I just saw one today with a mouth full of clover flowers!
