It seems to have very pronounced ridges on it so I can only think of the accompanying red flowered shrub with this Cordyline in one of our containers. Any warmer?

Yes Alessandra it is a Salvia. You saw it too in Cindy´s garden. Do you need another photograph or can you remember?

With Alessandra's pointer to salvias, I'll take a stab at Salvia regla, which I seem to remember having striking red stems in Cindy's garden.
