I know perfectly well, the name of this Miscanthus.
This week however, I am suffering from what I call middle age brain death and I just can't think of it! :-[ :-[ :-[
Can anybody help my frustration? :-[ :-[
Thanks Daisy :)

Thank-you Oron, of course it is.  I hate it when my brain forgets something I know so well!

ezeiza, I was told when I bought it, that this plant was Solanum lacinatum! I knew it wasn't, but did not know what it was, until I saw it on John's thread on this forum. It has only been planted a few months, but has doubled it's size in that time.
I notice that in the hottest part of the summer, it drops it's flowers around lunch time, but now that it is cooler, it holds them all day.

Daisy it is Ruellia simplex [Syn. R. brittoniana]
A real beauty but be carefull as you might find your self next seoson with a few hundred seedling all over the garden.
However i think there is a big confusion regarding some names that result in beeing one or two species:
R. angustifolia, R. brittoniana, R. simplex, R. coerulea, R. tweediana

I like the combination with the white Cosmos and the blue Plumbago.

Oron, Daisy's is "our" Ruellia brittoniana. Many thanks, Daisy. It flowers for 10 months or more and can be grown in a pond. Available in a deep violet/indigo, baby pink and in white.

I am wondering if all those names do not represent different garden plants
