Title: Tree in Elche (Spain) IDd by Oron as Populus euphratica
Post by: Chantal on October 27, 2011, 03:20:18 PM
We just passed close to a very special tree, while MGS members were strolling in the park of Elche.
First of all, we thought it was an Eucalyptus, but Bracey Tiede found some seeds and the conclusion was that it could not be that. the trees shown on the picture seem young specimens, because the trunk of an old one was quite different.
Help Oron ! All MGS members are waiting for an answer ! What is worse is that I forgot to collect the seeds !

Populus euphratica syn. Populus diversifolia.
