Whilst helping in a friend's garden yesterday I spotted this poor bee that had been trapped on the flower of a Gaura by a completely white spider - Misumena vatia I think.... '

It is very neat, how these crab spiders can (given a little time) change colour to match their flower. But just as often, in my experience, they are a contrasting colour. Here's a whitish one in a white and purple petunia, in a window box at a hotel in Lemithou (Troodos). You can see he's up for a fight with me or my camera!
