Our beautifully shaped Melia azadarach that normally hosts the Golden Oriole Birds in the Spring has been maimed together with the Jacaranda mimosifolia because the neighbours on the the left side of our garden ( two sister that I have known since their infancy) don't like the leaves and flowers of the trees falling on their private road and their garden because its makes the place look UNTIDY. I always go round and sweep the flowers and we always prune the branches that overhang the wall but this year the demand was that we should cut them down and replace them with pine trees or cut them to the height of our wall level so the breeze will not carry the leaves and flowers in their road. It made my heart hurt , and my sister, 9 years older then me, hopping mad. I had to restrain her from starting a war. I called my pruning man and we butchered the trees. As to replacing them NEVER!!
